Welcome to Field Notes
This is the first signal.
A book about three hundred people who cannot leave each other is, underneath the plot, a book about attention: who is watching, who is being watched, and what gets quietly recorded while everyone is busy surviving. It seemed only fair to keep a record of our own out in the open.
So these are the field notes. Between now and September 18, 2026, expect short dispatches on the things the novel is made of:
- writing in enclosed spaces, and what they do to the people inside them
- surveillance as weather rather than villain
- what we owe the people we cannot get away from
No funnel, no drip sequence. When there is something worth saying, it shows up here, and in the RSS feed for anyone who still keeps one.
The system built to keep them safe is always, quietly, taking notes.
Pull up a chair in the small enclosed space. The light is on.
